These two beautiful creatures live in Newberg. Freda, at the top is a long-haired dachshund, and her friend (and boss) Ruby is a wire-haired dachshund.
This is my latest pet portrait, a golden retriever named Barney. I used a couple of photos to put this together, as Barney is a moving target and hard to photograph. He loves his rawhide bones, which is the object hanging out of his mouth.
I attended Museum Art School from 1970-1972, studying with Robert Palladino, Miss Kennedy, Robert Hanson, Manuel Izquierdo, Charles Kelley, Michel Russo, and those other guys. Desperate to become financially independent, I ditched school and became a technical illustrator, typesetter, production artist, photographer's assistant, copywriter, editor, technical writer, trade show coordinator, darkroom technician, proofreader, administrative assistant, and marketing communications coordinator.
I still like drawing the best.
